When Heero woke up, he was surprised to find Wu Fei typing at Heero's laptop. The tapping sound should have alerted him earlier. Heero was a restless sleeper even on the best of nights.

"What are you doing?" he demanded, glaring. "You're lucky I didn't kill you in my sleep."

"Oh, lighten up," Wu Fei said.

What?

"Really, Heero," Wu Fei continued, "this whole antisocial thing is getting old. You're supposed to be the protagonist of the story, you know? Makes it difficult for the viewer to identify with you."

Heero stood up and tapped his foot until Wu Fei slid his chair away from the desk. "That's an interesting observation, considering the source," he said.

"Come on," Wu Fei said, "have you ever asked yourself why I'm so antisocial? Why I do crazy things like pass up a perfectly good opportunity to smash Treize to smithereens and challenge him to a pointless duel instead?" He was smirking. Smirking.

"No," Heero said bluntly. To be frank, he didn't spend much time thinking about Wu Fei at all, except as a means to an end. Okay, he had to admit that the other pilot was pretty good at his job, for the most part.

"It's because of you!" Wu Fei threw up his hands. "The truth is, I'm really a pretty easygoing kind of guy. But you just had to go and be a truculent anime protagonist, so they needed someone to be even more antisocial than you, to make you look friendly in comparison! Can I say that it's kind of difficult to be more antisocial than you? You should act more friendly! Although that hurt/comfort thing you have going with Duo, Trowa, and Quatre is a step in the right direction."

"It is inefficient to refuse assistance when one is injured," Heero informed him.

Wu Fei just grinned. "Oh, yeah, sure. Have it your way."

Heero stared stonefacedly at Wu Fei until the other pilot gave up and sauntered out of the room, whistling.
