The Youngest Soldier

Lion decides the youngest soldier is too small to eat

So the youngest soldier made the long journey away from the sea to the savannah where Lion lived. "Excuse me," he said.

Lion eyed the youngest soldier, but decided he was too small to eat. "Yes?"

"Could you tell me what authority is?"

Lion put her head on her paws. "Authority is something a leader has more of than you do. When the leader of your pride roars, you go where she tells you to."

"How does a lioness become leader?" asked the youngest soldier. "And how can she delegate her leadership to someone else?"

"That's a good question," admitted Lion. "You should ask Unicorn. He's very wise, and he might know."
